Sentencing hearing scheduled for today in Boone County Court for 39-year-old Sergio Sayles. He was found guilty last month of first-degree murder for the April 2023 stabbing death of Jasmine King in Jefferson City.

Sayles was also convicted of armed criminal action and tampering with evidence in the case, which was heard by Judge Brouck Jacobs.

The verdict followed a three-and a half day bench trial
