Senate Bill 68 Forces School Cell Phone Changes

Students across mid-Missouri head back to school, en masse, beginning next week. And as they go, they do so under new guidelines for electronic devices.

Gov. Mike Kehoe signed Missouri Senate Bill 68 last month, which requires all school districts to adopt written policies banning the use or display of personal electronic devices during the school day. That includes cell phones during class time, lunch, breaks, passing periods and study halls.

Schools across the state are adapting new rules for electronics to comply with SB 68. Most schools are attempting to allow kids to have access to their phone, but that devices must be out of sight and on silent.
