Yesterday Afternoon, a Boone County judge found 39-year-old Sergio Sayles guilty of first-degree murder for the April 2023 stabbing death of Jasmine King in Jefferson City.

Sayles was also convicted of armed criminal action and tampering with evidence in the case, which was heard by Judge Brouck Jacobs.

Court documents showed that King and Sayles had an “off-and-on intimate relationship” and had previously had a child together.

King was found dead in her apartment with multiple stab wounds in April 2023.

The verdict followed a three-and a half day bench trial that concluded Yesterday

A final disposition and Sentencing hearing for Sayles’ is scheduled for Dec. 1.
