Sewer Plan Moves Forward in New Bloomfield

Despite a major blow earlier this month when Gov. Mike Kehoe vetoed $3 million in grant funding that New Bloomfield was in line to receive from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for sewer system improvements, the city continues to push forward with the project.

New Bloomfield is hoping to regionalize its sewer system with Holts Summit and Jefferson City. At the city’s board of aldermen meeting Monday night, the board approved a supplemental plan to continue working with DNR and applying for department grants. as well as looking for additional support at the federal level.

The new plan would nearly double the sewer main in Holts Summit, which would benefit both communities.
