Sunday Morning Fire in Jeff City

An early morning structure fire Sunday in Jefferson City has left two mid-Missouri families displaced.

The Jefferson City Fire Department responded to the fire just after 12:40 a.m. Sunday morning in the 800 block of Weathered Rock Road.

Fire crews arrived to find fire showing from a second story window of an apartment building. They were able to attack the fire and contain it to the apartment, and bring it under control in 30 minutes, according to the fire department.

All occupants of the apartments were safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries.

The displaced families are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
