The trial of a Jefferson City woman accused of killing a 4-year-old boy is now set to take place July 26, 2026,

Quatavia Givens, who is accused of the 2018 death of Darnell Gray, is charged with first-degree murder, child abuse, child endangerment and abandonment of a corpse.

Givens had been ruled mentally unfit for trial in 2023, but has been treated by the state since then, and was recently found mentally competent to stand trial,

The trial will feature a jury brought in from Pulaski County, but will be tried in Cole County. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
