In Columbia, two people are accused of stealing marijuana, cannabis oil, and thousands of dollars from a home just hours after police were there investigating a death.

Police say 51-year-old David Stroup Jr. and 48-year-old Uneeda Stroup, both from Alaben, Missouri, broke into the home Saturday night and returned several times into early Sunday morning, taking boxes of marijuana and cash.

Investigators say surveillance video led to their arrest after one of the victims identified them. Both suspects later turned over about 14 pounds of marijuana, 15 jars of cannabis oil, and more than $6,700.

The pair now face burglary and theft charges and are being held in the Boone County Jail on $15,000 bond each.

Court dates have not yet been set.
