Two Jefferson City residents arrested for rape.

Two Jefferson City residents have been charged with felonies in a case involving a minor.

Michael Alexander, 32, is charged with first-degree rape, and Lorretta Wilhelm, 40, faces charges of first-degree rape and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Both are detained in the Cole County Jail without bond, with arraignments set for Friday morning.

According to court documents, the victim’s father contacted police on December 14 after learning the child had been sexually abused the night before.

Investigators say Wilhelm picked up the youth from a friend’s home on December 13, provided alcohol, and then brought Alexander to a hotel room, where the alleged abuse occurred.

An older sibling later retrieved the victim after learning they were at the hotel, and the victim reportedly told the sibling they had intercourse with Alexander.

Wilhelm allegedly admitted to having alcohol in her vehicle but denied giving alcohol to the youth and claimed she did not know Alexander’s age.

Alexander reportedly denied the sexual encounter.

Police say hotel footage shows Wilhelm paying for the room and Alexander carrying the victim into the room.
