University of Missouri Board of Curators meets in closed session

The University of Missouri System Board of Curators meets behind closed doors today, with the future of Tigers head football coach Eli Drinkwitz potentially on the line.

A notice says curators will review confidential communications with university lawyers, personnel matters and contracts, as required when deals run longer than five years.

The session comes as Missouri works to keep Drinkwitz amid reported interest from powerhouse programs across college football.

Drinkwitz is in his sixth season with one regular-season game left at Arkansas and a bowl still ahead, and he’s already signed multiple extensions at Mizzou, including one approved last December.

Administrators have reportedly signaled they are willing to boost his compensation and support to keep him in Columbia.

There is no timetable yet on when a new extension, if approved, would be announced.
