Williams charged after intimidation display

A 19-year-old Columbia man was charged today (Monday) with armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and fourth-degree assault in connection to the Saturday incident in the 4600 block of Rice Road.

According to court documents, Chauncey Williams pointed a loaded AR-15 at two women, one of who’s daughter was recently shot in the face, and six kids who were standing outside the house on Rice Road.

According to statements, he was in a vehicle that drove up slowly, then stopped while he pointed the firearm out the window at the women and their kids.

The Columbia Police Department used the Flock Safety system to find the suspect’s vehicle and identify it as belonging to Williams.

Police found the vehicle at Williams’ home and then found an AR-15 in his vehicle.

He is currently being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.

An initial appearance for him was set for Monday this afternoon in Boone County court.
