Saturday was National Wreaths Across America Day with more than two million volunteers and supporters gathering across the country to Remember, Honor and Teach the value of freedom at more than 5,200 participating locations.

Locally, Hawthorn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson City participated and placed wreaths on every veterans’ grave.

Over 40 volunteers laid 1,500 wreaths and participated in a ceremony held to honor all the veterans.
