Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Killed in I-70 Accident
A Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief is dead following an accident on I-70 early this morning (Wednesday).
According to a release from the district, Assistant Chief Bryant Gladney was on the scene of an accident involving a truck and passenger vehicle at the westbound 135.4 mile marker when his vehicle was struck at high speed by a tractor trailer.
The tractor trailer then struck a University Hospital ambulance on the scene and the truck involved in the original accident.
Gladney was extricated from his vehicle and taken to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
