Mexico Noon Lions Club Delivers Bench Made From Donated Plastic to Eugene Field Elementary School

Students at the Eugene Field Elementary School in Mexico will be able to enjoy a brand new bench thanks to the Mexico Noon Lions Club.

The bench was delivered this morning (Wednesday) by Mexico Noon Lions Club President Andy Utterback, 2nd Vice President Melanie Utterback and member Tad Dobyns and presented to members of the Eugene Field Student Council.

Mexico Noon Lions teamed up with Trex to recycle soft plastics.

Eugene Field was the first school in the Mexico District to collect 500 pounds of plastic so they were the first school to get a bench.

The community rallied around the plastic donations and collected over 1900 pounds of plastic before the project had to be ended due to the Trex Company not working with the Mexico Noon Lions for the recycling of the plastics.

The Noon Lions Club is hopeful to get a bench for McMillan and Hawthorne soon.

Eugene Field brought in over 750 pounds in about 6 weeks.
