Noble Health Corporation Announces Furloughs at Hospitals in Mexico and Fulton

The Audrain Community Hospital in Mexico and the Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton are announcing they have furloughed 175 full-time employees.

In a press release sent out last night (Wednesday) from the owners of the hospitals – Noble Health Corporation, they report the hospitals have faced significant challenges that were the result of unforeseeable business circumstances and both hospitals are actively seeking financing to avoid shutting down operations.

The hospitals and clinics employ a combined 500 people in Audrain, Callaway and surrounding counties.

All employees will continue to have access to healthcare benefits at least through April 30th.

Two weeks ago both hospitals suspended services and diverted all patients to nearby facilities so they could restructure their operations in order to become financially viable.

Affiliated health clinics remaining open include Cornerstone Family Medicine, the Family Medicine/Walk In, Internal Medicine, the Perry, Wellsville, Montgomery and Callaway Clinics.

Rural Health, Orthopedic, and the Women’s Health Clinic.
