New Terminal to Open Soon at Columbia Regional Airport

The new 52,000 square foot terminal at Columbia Regional Airport is expected to open at the end of September.

Begun in April of last year, three of the four new gates will be operational on the first day. Two gates are dedicated to American Airlines, while another is for chartered flights or for athletic teams visiting to vie against the University of Missouri.

The new terminal features three heated, air-conditioned and covered passenger boarding bridges and will have a restaurant area, a mother’s room and a quiet room, an indoor pet relief station, and eventually a car rental facility.

Talks continue with American Airlines regarding expanding flight availability and destinations, as well as with United Airlines regarding a return to Columbia.
