COVID Vaccine With Broader Effect Approved and Available
After review, recommendation and authorization from the FDA and CDC, a new bivalent formulation booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is available. The vaccine is from both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech and is recommended as a single dose booster at least two months following primary or booster vaccination.
Bivalent vaccines, also referred to as “update boosters,” contain two messenger RNA (mRNA) components of COVID-19 virus, one from the original strain of COVID-19 and the other from common lineages of the omicron variant of COVID-19.
The list of vaccinators in Columbia and other information can be found by visiting CoMo.gov/covidvaccine.
