KWWR Sports Report 9/14/22
It took the Brewers eight pitchers and a homer by Andrew McCutchen to pull an 8-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals last night.
Pitching swaps started in the first inning when Brewers’ opener, Matt Bush left after just 15 pitches because of right groin discomfort.
Montgomery had a rough night with his worst start in eight games for the Cardinals, allowing six runs, four earned, and giving up seven hits while striking out six.
The Milwaukee Brewers are in St. Louis at 6:45 – Corbin Burnes vs Cardinals’ Adam Wainwright.
Minnesota rookie Joe Ryan and reliever Jovani Moran combined to pitch no-hit ball until the ninth inning when Royals’ Bobby Witt Jr. doubled with one out in the ninth inning. The Royals rallied strong in the last but couldn’t catch the Twins and lost 6-3.
The Kansas City Royals are in Minnesota tonight, taking on the Twins at 6:40 – Zack Greinke vs Sonny Gray.
