Fire Destroys Valuable Outbuilding

A detached garage fire in the 7800 block of West Highway 124 south of Harrisburg results in a complete loss of the $250,000 building. The fire was reported around 5:45 yesterday afternoon, according to an online dispatch log.

KMIZ reports that Boone County Assistant Fire Chief, Gale Blomenkamp said cooking was the cause of the fire. Fire officials confirmed no injuries were reported at the scene.
