Consultant to be Hired to Study Healthcare Options for Possible Hospital

The Audrain County Commission, the City of Mexico, and the Audrain County Health Department are commissioning a Healthcare Market Assessment and Financial Feasibility Study to get information on what type of hospital would best suit the needs of the area.

The first step is underway as the entities have sent out a Request For Qualifications for consultants to begin the study.

According to City Manager Bruce Slagle, several potential models of healthcare have been presented, including a micro hospital, 24/7 emergency services, rural emergency hospital and a critical access hospital to name a few.

There are three things that the study will provide.

Qualified consulting firms have until March 9th to submit their qualifications with the winning firm selected based on their experience, especially in Missouri and their understanding of the project.

Once the firm is selected, it could be 90 days before the study is completed.
