KWWR Sports Report 8/8/23

Battle High School named a new coach as the first day of football practices got underway yesterday (Monday).

The Spartans named Matthew Herman as the new head football coach.

Herman is a Hickman and Mizzou graduate who spent several years on the Battle coaching staff as an assistant coach, including the 2014 state championship team.

Herman replaces Jonah Dubinski who abruptly resigned on July 26th.

Mizzou Basketball has landed a four-star recruit.

Head coach Dennis Gates gained the verbal commitment yesterday (Monday) from 6’7 forward Marcus Allen, who is from the Miami, Florida area.

Allen is a consensus top-60 player in the nation.

The Kansas City Royals lost 6-2 to the Boston Red Sox last night (Monday) at Fenway Park.
