High Speed Internet Coming to Hundreds in Monroe and Randolph Counties
Over 600 residents, eight businesses, and 94 farms in Monroe and Randolph counties will soon have access to high-speed internet.
According to a press release by Missouri State Director of the USDA, Kyle Wilkens, Chariton Valley Telephone Corporation is receiving a $2.2 million grant to deploy a fiber to-the-premises network. High-speed internet will be made affordable by participating in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity and Lifeline programs.
The money comes from Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which provides $65 billion to ensure every American has access to affordable, reliable high-speed internet through investment in infrastructure and lowering some costs for internet service to help more Americans take full advantage of the opportunities provided by internet access.
