Mexico Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team Claims Second Consecutive District Championship

The Mexico Bulldogs boys basketball team claimed their second consecutive District Championship after defeating the Macon Tigers 45-39 at the Centralia High School this afternoon (Saturday).

It was a tight game throughout.

Mexico held a 12-8 lead after the first quarter.

Macon outscored the Bulldogs 9-8 in the second quarter, as Mexico would take just a 3 point lead into halftime.

The third quarter senior Isaiah Reams notched 2 three pointers and went over 1,500 points in his career.

Mexico went into the 4th quarter with a six point lead and held to for the win.

Isaiah Reams lead all scorers with 13 points and was the only Mexico Bulldog in double digits.

Rounding out the scoring book for the Bulldogs it was Jordan Shelton with 9, Peyton Willer and Daeye Miller with 7 points each respectively.

Michael White recorded 6 points, and DJ Long ended up with 3 points.

Up next the 27-0 Mexico Bulldogs face the 17-10 St. Charles West Warriors at the Troy High School on Tuesday, March 8th with a 7:45 tip.
