The Mexico High School baseball team had an offensive explosion on Saturday when they defeated the Eldon Mustangs 16-4.

Bulldogs hitters Daeye Miller and Andrew Runge managed three hits to lead the Bulldogs to victory.

Mexico is now 4-1 on the season.

Up next the Bulldogs hit the road tomorrow night (Tuesday) for a conference game at Kirksville.

Per reports on Twitter and from the St. Louis post Dispatch the St. Louis Cardinals are finalizing a one-year contract with future Hall of Famer Albert Pujols.

The deal is reportedly worth $2.5 million and the 42 year old Pujols is expected to provide the Cardinals help in the designated hitter position, which was expanded to the National League this season.

The deal is now pending a physical, and if all goes well Pujols will reunite with former teammates Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright in what is thought to be their final season.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 7-3 to the New York Mets in Spring Training yesterday (Sunday). The Redbirds are back in action this afternoon when they play the Houston Astros with a 12:05 first pitch.

The Kansas City Royals lost 13-12 to the Chicago Cubs. The Royals face the Cleveland Guardians this afternoon (Monday) at 3:05.

The stage is set for Final Four in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

In Mike Krzyzewski’s final season, Duke and North Carolina will meet for the first time in NCAA tournament history.

Kansas the only number one seed left in the tournament plays Villanova.

Both games will be played on Saturday night at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

In hockey tonight (Monday) the St. Louis Blues host the Vancouver Canucks at the Enterprise Center.

Puck drops at 6:30.
