The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Miami Marlins 2-0 last night (Wednesday).

Nolan Arenado hit a two-run home run in the top of the ninth to give the Redbirds their second consecutive win over the Marlins.

St. Louis goes for the series sweep tonight (Thursday).

The Kansas City Royals notched a 2-0 victory against the Minnesota Twins at the K.

Kansas City’s starting pitcher Daniel Lynch delivered five-plus scoreless innings.

The Royals bullpen closed the game out and have not allowed a run since the seventh inning last Thursday against Detroit.

In the NBA playoffs last night (Wednesday) the Chicago Bulls defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 114-110 to even their series up at one game apiece.

The Philadelphia 76ers bested the Toronto Raptors 104-101 in overtime to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the first round series.

The Boston Celtics went up 2-0 on the New Jersey Nets with a 114-107 win.

Tennis officials have banned Russian and Belarusian players from competing at Wimbledon this year, citing the unjustified and unprecedented military aggression in Ukraine.

The announcement was made yesterday (Wednesday).

Wimbledon, one of four Grand Slam tournaments, is set to take place in London from June 27 to July 10.

Organizers said in their statement that if circumstances change materially before then, they will consider and respond accordingly.

There are four Russian men in the top 30 including two in the top 10 – and two Belarusian women in the top 20.
