The St. Louis Cardinals lost 4-1 to the Cincinnati Reds yesterday (Sunday).

The Cardinals managed their lone run thanks to back-to-back double by Paul Goldschmidt and Tyler O’Neill.

The Cardinals completed their longest road trip of the season going 6-4, and return to Busch Stadium tonight (Monday) to start a series with the New York Mets.

It took 12 innings for the Seattle Mariners to beat the Kansas City Royals 5-4 yesterday (Sunday) in Seattle.

Kansas City’s Hunter Dozier sent the game into extras with a homer, Andrew Benintendi briefly gave the Royals the lead in the 10th with a pinch-hit RBI and Kansas City had the bases loaded with one out in the 12th.

The Royals could not capitalize on that opportunity, as the Mariners got a game-winning single in the bottom of the 12th.

The Missouri Tigers baseball team were swept by the 22nd ranked LSU Tigers over the weekend in a three game series.

Mizzou lost 8-6 in the series finale in Baton Rouge Saturday afternoon.

Mizzou’s Trevor Austin hit a two-run home run finishing 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBI for the Tigers.

Austin’s homer was the Jefferson City native’s third of the season, and also ran his hitting streak to eight games.

The Kansas City Royals are announcing they have acquired right-handed pitcher Matt Peacock from the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash considerations.

Peacock was a 23rd-round pick by Arizona out of University of South Alabama.

In parts of two seasons with the Diamondbacks he has pitched in 89 innings with a 4.96 ERA and about 5 strikeouts-per-nine innings.

In the NBA playoffs yesterday (Monday) the Denver Nuggets staved off elimination beating the Golden State Warriors 126-121.

The New Orleans Pelicans evened their first round series with the Phoenix Suns at one game apiece with a 118-103 victory.

The Miami Heat bested the Atlanta Hawks 110 to 86 to take a 3-1 series advantage.

The Milwaukee Bucks took down the Chicago Bulls 119-95 and lead the series 3-1.
