The Southern Boone High School defeated Marshall 6-5 in 11 innings yesterday in the Class 4 state baseball semi-finals.

The Eagles advanced to face Logan-Rogersville for the Class 4 championship at 1 this afternoon.

Southern Boone is in pursuit of its first state baseball championship in school history.

Father Tolton will make its first ever appearance in the Class 3 state championship game today after taking down Lawson 6-3 last night (Wednesday) in the semi-finals.

The championship game matchup against Springfield Catholic takes place tonight (Thursday) at US Ballpark in Ozark.

The St. Louis Cardinals completed a series sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 5-2 win at Busch Stadium yesterday (Wednesday).

Paul Goldschmidt extended his on base streak to 37 games and extended his hitting streak to 23 games.

Nolan Arenado went yard in the victory.

The Cardinals head to Wrigley tonight (Thursday) to start a five game series with their division rival the Chicago Cubs.
