Former Missouri point guard Phil Pressey, is returning to his alma mater.

Mizzou announced in a news release yesterday (Friday) that Pressey will join the staff of new head coach Dennis Gates as a graduate assistant.

Pressey started is pro career with the Boston Celtics in 2013.

He followed up the short stints in Philadelphia and Phoenix before spending the majority of is professional career overseas in places like Barcelona.

Pressey played three seasons at Mizzou and is the school’s all-time assist leader 580.

The St. Louis Cardinals were shut-out by the Chicago Cubs 3-0 at Busch Stadium last night (Friday).

Chicago starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks carried a shutout into the eighth and picked up the win improving to 13-3 in 25 lifetime starts against St. Louis, his most victories against any team.

The Kansas City Royals defeated the Oakland A’s at the K. Royals slugger Edward Olivares returned to the lineup and belted two solo homers for his first career multi-homer game.

The Tampa Bay Lightning stayed alive in the NHL Stanley Cup Finals with a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

With the win the series goes back to Tampa. Colorado still leads the best-of-seven series 3-2.
