The Missouri Tigers football team picked an addition to the 2023 class yesterday, crossing the river into Illinois to land wide receiver Nicholas DeLoach Jr.

He has yet to be rated by the major recruiting services.

He had offers from Illinois State and Northern Illinois, in addition to Mizzou.

The Tigers now have six players in their 2023 recruiting class, which currently ranks 64th in the nation according to 247Sports.

The St. Louis Cardinals lost 6-5 to the Chicago Cub in 10 innings yesterday (Sunday) at Busch Stadium.

St. Louis sluggers Brendan Donovan, Paul Goldschmidt and Juan Yepez hit solo home runs in the third inning and pushed the Cardinals lead to 5-0.

The Cardinals offense did not score the rest of the game.

The Cubs took two out of three from the Cardinals in the three-game weekend series.

With loss St. Louis dropped out of first place in the National League Central to second place.

They trail the first place Milwaukee Brewers by one game.

The Kansas City Royals lost 5-3 to the Oakland A’s at the K.

The Royals are now 26-45 overall, however have won seven of their last 11 games.

The Colorado Avalanche won their first Stanley Cup title since 2001 last night (Sunday) after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1.

It is Colorado’s third Stanley Cup title overall.

Their nine road wins set a franchise record for most in a playoff year and finish as the second-highest total in NHL history behind six clubs with 10, most recently coming when the St. Louis Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
