The basketball Tigers had a split weekend.

The men were handed their first loss of the season at the hands of archrival Kansas, 95 – 67 in the HyVee Hoops Border Showdown Saturday.

On the women’s side, they improve to 11 and 1 following yesterday’s 74 – 61 win over Jackson State.

The Chiefs started off strong and headed for a blowout of the Broncos yesterday, but managed to fend off a surge to win 34 to 28.

The Blues dropped a game to the Avalanche yesterday, 3 – 2.
