Despite being led by Senior Hayley Frank’s 13 points, it wasn’t enough for the women’s Tigers basketball team last night in Georgia.

With the 62 – 51 loss, Mizzou looks to regroup as their SEC road trip continues.

Next up, Lexington, Kentucky to take on the Wildcats Sunday afternoon, tipoff set for 2:00.

The Mizzou Tigers men’s basketball team is home tomorrow afternoon in the SEC – Big 12 Challenge game.

The Tigers face the Cyclones of Iowa State, tipoff is at 1:00.

The Tigers are going old-school, bringing back retro jerseys reminiscent of the look worn through the mid-90s.

Lincoln University in Jefferson City is changing athletic conferences.

After a dozen years in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, they will become the 15th school in the Great Lakes Valley Conference beginning with the 2024-25 season.

Lincoln will join other Missouri schools Drury in Springfield, Maryville in St. Louis, Missouri University of Science & Technology in Rolla, UMSL, Rockhurst in KC, Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Truman State in Kirksville and William Jewell in Liberty along with 6 other schools in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana.

Lincoln will also be adding men’s and women’s soccer and baseball to their athletic offerings.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is now a 2-time MVP as voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America.

The honor was announced earlier this week and Mahomes is the 49th player to win the award.

When he won the award in 2018, he was the first Chiefs player to have won the honor.

The final round of boys action at the 98th Annual Bowling Green Tourney is now set.

Last night, it was Elsberry besting Van-Far 60 – 39 and Winfield getting the best of Bowling Green 64 – 41.

Elsberry and Winfield play the championship game tomorrow evening at 5:00 while Van-Far and Bowling Green play for third place at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon.

On the consolation side, Louisiana handled Silex 80 – 42 and Clopton ended North Callaway’s run, 61 – 52.

The consolation game between Louisiana and Clopton is tomorrow afternoon at 2:00.

Girls play wraps up tonight.

At 4:30, Clopton and Louisiana play the consolation game followed by the third place game between North Callaway and Winfield.

That game has a 5:50 tip.

The championship game gets underway at 7:15 between Elsberry and Silex.

Community R-VI Trojans pick up a second round win in the Sturgeon Tournament last night (Thursday).

The boys knocked off New Bloomfield 55 – 38.

Leading scorers for the Trojans were Mason Carroll with 24, Gavin Allen with 13, Tucker Robnett with 10, Eli Johnson chipped in 4 and Logan Johnson and Kyler Swaim contributed 2 each.

The Blues are on the road tomorrow night taking on the Avalanche, puck drops at 7:00.

Sunday will be a day full of football action as the NFL conference championship games get underway.

At 2:00, the Eagles and 49ers square off in the NFC championship game and then at 5:30, it’s the Chiefs hosting the Bengals at Arrowhead.

Winners advance to Super Bowl LVII in Phoenix on February 12th.
