Mexico Bulldogs Basketball Plays Tough Competition at Central Methodist Team Camp

Mexico Bulldogs varsity basketball went 2-1 at the Central Methodist University team camp yesterday (Wednesday).

The Class 4 Bulldogs played 2 Class 5 schools and a Class 6 school.

The Bulldogs beat Class 5 Warrenton and Class 6 Truman and lost to Class 5 Fort Zumwalt.

Mexico head coach Darren Pappas says, “Seniors DJ Long, Donye Nunnelly, and Aiden Knipfel made some big plays down the stretch and in the last game.

Jaydon Eldridge, Charlie Fisher, Kaden Benne, and Sam Ryan all knocked down timely shots from the perimeter throughout the day.

PJ Perkins and Holden Aulbur controlled the boards and made big defensive plays.

Kinser Groves gave us god minutes off the bench.

We are still turning the ball over too much, but we found ways to overcome our mistakes.

Defensively we did a great job of helping each other out.

It’s a work in progress, but I like the direction we are headed.

Our young roster is starting to mature with experience this summer against good competition.”
