Rush Hill Woman Arrested for Crop Damage to Wellsville Area Farm

A Rush Hill woman is facing charges after an arrest where she is accused of doing donuts in a Montgomery County cornfield in the Wellsville area.

30-year-old Heather Marie Garnett, is charged with causing more than $1,000 of crop loss and leaving the scene of an accident that caused more than $1,000 of property damage.

Garnett was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Montgomery County Jail, according to the probable cause statement.

She allegedly drove her vehicle into a cornfield off Route AA near Red Barn Road on Saturday, then ran away and went back to the field on Sunday morning to pick up her truck.

She allegedly told deputies that she would pay for the corn and that she had $500 to give to the farmer and she also reportedly told deputies she was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

She is currently on unsupervised probation after pleading guilty to a DWI charge in January.
